Fine Wine storage including Smith & Taylor’s liability insurance is charged in advance per up to 75ml Bottle per day/part day, to 31st December. Larger size bottles charged pro rata according to size. Account adjustments, from additions or withdrawal of bottles and/or closure of an account, are invoiced or credited/refunded retrospectively incrementally. Part days are liable to a full day’s charge. Each client portfolio is supported by an annually reviewed Master of Wine appraisal report, and a maintained valuation based on the average current market value including UK Duty and Value Added Tax, as an indication only for insurance purposes. Client’s wine holdings are cellared within our temperature and humidity- controlled cellars. Each client receives a detailed portfolio every year to support their reserves, and inventories can be emailed on request in the intervening period at no cost. Every case is labelled on arrival at our cellars with the owner’s name, address, stock & receipt number, source of receipt and date reference into store. All wooden cases where original seals are suspected broken, are opened and contents inspected, and then resealed. Inward notes confirming stock arrivals are emailed to the client’s email address as verification of delivery into store. Stock leaving our cellars is strictly controlled by Outward consignment notes whether collected or delivered. Published wine storage rates and charging processes are subject to the following variables, containerisation, quantity of bottles, value, term, frequency of withdrawals, in advance charging, diversity of inventory and packaging.
